Small Groups

Join a Small Group

What is a small group? It’s pretty much just like it sounds – a smaller group of people that get together on a reglar basis to do life together – to connect.

Times and locations vary depending on the group.

There are 59 passages in the New Testament that talk about “one another” or “each other.”  For example, Mark 9:50 says “…and be at peace with each other.” John 13:34 says, “A new command I give you: Love one another.  As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”

Small Group is where we can learn to do that in community.  Most small groups have an element of Bible Study, whether that is a particular book of the Bible or a topic; an element of fellowship; and an element of service to our community.

Some groups are formed based on stage of life (e.g. in their 20’s and just starting careers and navigating through that; some who have young families; etc.); some who want to study the same material; some that are more of a support group (e.g. adoption); and some are based on location – close to home.

We encourage you to become involved with a small group as soon as possible.  It’s a way to grow in your knowledge and love of God.  It’s a place to care for others and be cared for as well. It’s a place to serve – whether that’s helping with a community dinner, creating a float for a parade, visiting the lonely – the list is only limited by imagination.
